Lucrézia Solena, Creation of fashion accessories

Background:
Further to studies in History of Art and Drawing, I obtained a B.E.P. (Brevet d'études professionnelles) in Commercial Art in 1987, a diploma in Decorative Arts Decoration in 1991 and a D.U.T. (Diplôme universitaire techologique) as an archeological technician in 1995. Since 1992 I have worked in advertising, as an illustrator and as a fabric designer. My work has been widely exhibited and I have participated in many fashion shows both in France and abroad.

Activities:
The creation and commercialization of fashion accessories and soft furnishings (silk scarves, cushions, clutch-bags tote-bags…).
I create exclusive collections based on strongly defined themes. Each model represents a painting - to be worn or looked at - and is produced in a very limited edition.
All designs are firstly painted entirely by hand, to scale, in gouache on paper and each design can take up to forty days to create. The design is then digitally printed on silk, wool, faux suede or cotton etc. and transformed into items such as scarves, cushion covers, handbags…. I also sell art prints of my designs as well as the original paintings.

Philosophy:
I have always loved beautiful fabric and richly decorated paper so starting to make my own designs was a natural step. After finishing my studies, I spent some time designing fabric motifs for big silk companies which were subsequently used in the production of silk squares, swimwear, wrapping paper… before deciding to set up by myself under the brand name "Cute Fashionista".
