I was a teacher in Belgium, now I am a seamstress and a singer
in France! When I was a little girl, I loved my grandmother’s
house, filled with beautiful fabrics, and I also liked
watching her while she was sewing. Years later, I found this
pleasure by applying myself to sewing in my turn, creating and
combining the materials that I like. It was after having left
Belgium and my work as professor that the passion that lives
in my hands and my heart came to me. In France, I began by
living in a community where I built my first studio with the
wood and hay, an extension of my pink caravan in which I
travelled at the time. Today, my studio is located at home, in
the countryside around Eymet.
Creation of handcrafted bags, purses… Each piece is unique,
made from old fabrics. These recycled fabrics come from
donations, are recovered during second-hand sales, from
churches, from our great-parents… I worked in the
old-fashioned way; my sewing machine is entirely manual.
The fabrics of the past make me dream, they shine and resonate,
their soul transports me elsewhere. In the studio, the noise
of an old machine, the movement of hands, the dance of feet...
I assemble and unite, another bag is born!
My ideal is to revive the fabrics of our forefathers to give
them a second life on the arm of beautiful ladies, to create,
simply, in respect of the environment, embroidered bags and
various accessories out of my nostalgic imagination.
