Bernard Mariette known as Dado, Artist painter

Background and activity:
It was in 1950 that painting awakened my taste for the arts. Firstly by working as a painter in letters and as a gilder, then studies in drawing and decoration, to finish by working in publicity: creation and realization of booths for major national events in Paris.

In 1969 the first exhibition of my works encouraged me to continue and to create. Leader of a painting studio, I became the president of the Association, with the responsibility of creating an event showcasing art in general and painting in particular, in all its techniques.

Then in 2002, new horizons and new creations, especially in watercolour in the light of the South of France, in Languedoc-Roussillon, while continuing my more personal research in the art of trompe l'oeil. I participate in many exhibitions, in which I am often the guest of honour.

Constantly seeking any way to promote painting, I initiated an outdoor market in Andernos where, every month, 25 painters present their works in the pure spirit of the painters of Montmartre and Montparnasse.

Now installed in the Dordogne, I have no doubt that my paintings and watercolours will have originality with the colours of the land.

In the Dordogne everything inspires me, nature, architecture for watercolours and the natural atmosphere of the old stones of the Valley of the Dordogne, which give off an authentic atmosphere for my compositions in trompe l'oeil.
