 Loïc Mazalrey, photographer

Seeing his father having fun taking pictures made Loïc first try taking recreational photographs, for fun: that was in February, 2008. He listened to his father’s advice, installed Photoshop and it was a revelation. Barely four months after starting photography, he won the Coupe de France “Colour”, a contest with 782 photos by experienced amateurs or professionals. Thanks to this victory, decisive for the future, Loïc worked even harder — he spent his days teaching himself photography (using the Photoshop tutorial and the critical forum on the Internet). By dint of seeing pictures, his eye sharpened and the desire to become a professional became apparent. He made the most of a job of photographer-filmmaker, where he had to be in good standing, in order to set up as a professional on 1 January 2009.

His work is divided between business services, where he takes pictures of weddings, photography workshops, business communication, portraits, pregnancy, babies, and his artistic activity, which allows him regularly to exhibit his works (Christmas markets, expos in galleries ...). Note that he is also a photographer for the newspaper Southwest.

Recently he has been using a technique of his own, which gives contour to his photos! He uses a special resin, which makes the colours “burst out” while protecting them at the same time! He makes the wooden frames himself, and he often uses handmade paper from the mill in Larroque for the back! He also has a pigmentary ink printer which makes unequalled longevity possible for the photos!
